The “M-Gov Award” and the “GovTech Award” are annual awards organized by the UAE government as part of the World Government Summit. These awards are designed to encourage pioneering students, researchers, government agencies & institutions, private sector companies and startups to develop innovative solutions using the latest technologies in order to address evolving local and global challenges and explore new opportunities for a better future for humanity.

In its eighth edition, “The Global Best M-Gov Award” is presented to students and researchers worldwide enrolled and registered in public and private universities, as well as graduates of the “One Million Coders” Program, in order to highlight the pioneering role of universities and creative and innovative youth in addressing local and global challenges. The award aims to recognize solutions that adopt novel approaches and techniques efficiently leveraging technology to solve problems affecting a large segment of the population and provide tangible benefits with the ability to expand geographically across borders.

The award is open for students, researchers and graduates of the “One Million Coders” Program to submit their projects as long as the application complies with the nature of the award and the stipulated terms and conditions. Three winners will be honored in the current edition of the award.

An independent jury team evaluates the submissions to determine the winners. The winners will be announced during the World Government Summit in Dubai from 13 to 15 February 2023.

The submission closes on the 31st of January 2023 at 20:00 GMT.

Terms of Participation

  • Only students enrolled in public and private universities can apply.

  • The university must be accredited and recognized by the authorized entities in their respective countries.

  • Students cannot participate individually; they must apply for the award as a team that consists of a minimum of two and maximum six individuals.

  • Students can participate with more than one application or working protoype.

  • The University can participate with more than one team.

  • Mobile applications/protoypes and solutions must be developed at the university and by the students themselves.

  • All submissions must include a video explaining the main features and benefits of the application.

  • Proof of graduation from the Initiative must be provided

  • It must be proven that the application or prototype was developed or launched during or after joining the initiative

  • All submissions must include a video explaining the main features and benefits of the application.
